Tasting notes

Hailing from the personal estate of Pierre Lurton, Director of Château Cheval-Blanc and Château d’Yquem, the Château Marjosse white displays a lovely pale gold, green flecked colour of brilliant clarity. The nose is intensely fragrant, featuring citrus aromas (lemon, grapefruit) and exotic fruits (mango, pineapple), interlaced with white floral nuances. The palate starts fresh and lively, finishing weighty and smooth, with lingering bright acidity. The finish is long, fruity and subtly savoury. This delicious wine offers pure, easy-drinking pleasure.

Vinification and aging

Direct, cold pressing in thermoreguled cement vats. Cold settling. Fine lees racking (turbidity: 100 NTU). Yeast added to vat (10g/Hl). Temperature-controlled fermentation. Hand stirred twice weekly. Bottled within two months, following filtration.

Terroir

This estate, located in Entre-deux-Mers, benefits from outstanding soil. Astéries limestone, which is identical to that of the Saint-Emilion plateau, forms outcrops here. The clay-limestone soil and subsoil, particularly well-suited to the production of great red wines and the cultivation of Merlot, also serve in production of the appellation’s inimitable white vintage.
