Meunier or Pinot Meunier, known as Morillon in the Middle Ages, is a grape variety originally from France’s Champagne region, characterized by small clusters of small grapes. This grape prefers clay soils. It is a tough plant that resists winter frost well. Meunier wine has less colour, refinement and alcohol content than Pinot Noir.
