Originally from Italy
Nielluccio, also known as Niellucciu or Sangiovese, is a grape variety originally from Italy, brought to Corsica by the Pisans in the 12th century. Its origins go back to the Nebbio region (it is called Sangiovese in Tuscany), and it is primarily grown in the Patrimonio AC region. The grapes of this delicate variety are both oily and supple. They offer licorice, red fruit and apricots on the nose, along with notes of spice and violets.
