Tasting Notes
This Château Lamothe-Cissac Haut Médoc 2020 boasts a deep purple color with violet highlights and an almost black core. The nose reveals a refined elegance, combining subtle notes of oak with aromas of ripe black berries, juicy plums and blackberries, with a hint of balsamic spices in the background. On the palate, the tannins are firm but ripe, offering good structure and balance between discreet oak and juicy fruit. This well-structured wine has a long finish, promising good ageing potential.

Vinification and Aging
Grapes are 100% destemmed. Modern vat adapted to the vinification of red wines from our region. 2 to 3 daily pump-overs during vinification help monitor fermentation. Long maceration periods of 4 to 6 weeks. Micro-oxygenation in vats reinforces tannic structure and color intensity.
Aging in oak barrels for around 12 months. To clarify the wines and provide them with the oxygenation required for maturation, rackings are scheduled according to the tastings carried out by the technical team.

Terroir
Created in 1988, Château Lamothe-Cissac's Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is only made in vintages where nature's bounty enables us to extract the power and concentration specific to our terroirs. Our aim is to produce and age a great wine for laying down.
The soils are composed of clay-limestone and clay gravel. The subsoil is made up of deep gravel.
