Tasting Notes
This deep, jammy Malbec is packed with layers of sweet cherry, ripe blackberry, mocha, pine cone and graphite. Subtle notes of bitter herbs and crushed cocoa beans add complexity to its aromatic profile. On the palate, it's expansive, rich and frankly full-bodied, with a bold, hedonistic character that leaves a lasting impression. The fruit is lush and overripe, embracing a flashy, opulent style that reflects the spectacular mountain ranges near the vineyard.
Grown on volcanic soils, the wine exudes palpable tension and energy, transmitted directly from Finca Altamira's rocky terrain. Its powerful structure and lingering finish make it a true expression of place - an imposing Malbec that tells the story of its origin with confidence and depth.

Vinification and Aging
Vinification: Several daily pump-overs with gentle watering of the cap were carried out, followed by gentle pressing based on the results of the daily tasting. No filtration, no pre-fermentation cold maceration, no acidity correction, no purging and no addition of enzymes were used.
Fermentation: Fermentation in cement tanks at a maximum temperature of 37.75°C, with numerous pump-overs to ensure optimal extraction.
Malolactic: 100% spontaneous malolactic fermentation in oak barrels.
Oak and aging: Aged for 14 months in new French oak barrels.

Terroir
The Altamira vineyard was planted in 1950 at the foot of the Andes, just below the Tunayán river. The Albanita is a mountainous terrain with extreme climatic conditions. The growing conditions are so difficult and the soil profile so unique that this Malbec's typicity goes beyond the usual descriptors. Aromas of orange peel and balsamic combine harmoniously with the violet and red fruit notes typical of Malbec. Mineral notes and lively acidity give this wine a character all its own.
