Grand Vin Seigneur 2020, Château Haute-Serre
Grand Vin Seigneur 2020, Château Haute-Serre
  • Tasting Notes

It has a beautiful blood-red color. The nose is complex, dominated by primary aromas of black fruit and subtle hints of licorice. Its volume on the palate and clean attack give way to peppery notes. On the palate, integrated tannins bring elegance and refinement to this Malbec from the Cahors plateau.

  • Vinification and Aging

    Strict control of vinification temperatures.

Aged for 12 months in 400-liter barrels before blending.

50% of the volume is aged in vats to preserve freshness and fruity notes.

12 to 18 months in bottle before marketing.

  • Terroir

Château de Haute-Serre lies at an altitude of 300 meters on the historic hillsides of the Cahors vineyards. Among the highest densities on the plateau, the 60 hectares of vines are nourished by the singularity of the Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soil enriched with blue clay and iron concretions.
