Score and Awards
A wine score is the quickest, simplest way for a wine critic to communicate their opinion about the quality of a wine.

Tasting Notes
A true bottled wonder! Its magnificent ruby-red color intensifies with age. The aromas are powerful, reminiscent of raspberry and wild cherry, becoming more complex with age: undergrowth, truffle, candied fruit. The structure is sublime, with refined tannins. A perfect example of Drouhin's ideal of elegance. Remarkable balance and persistent flavors on the palate. It's a wine that always leaves a memorable impression.

Vinification and Aging
Vinification: 20-50% whole grapes, depending on the vintage. Depending on terroir and vintage profile, we carry out 2 to 3 weeks of fermentation and maceration in small open vats, marked by punching down and pumping over. The yeasts are indigenous (natural). Pressing in a vertical press. Press ends separated by tasting.
Aging: in oak barrels, 30% of which are new.
Aging lasts between 16 and 20 months.
Origin of wood: oak from French high forest.
Throughout the ageing process, decisions are taken only after meticulous tasting. The data obtained are supplemented by technical analyses. As with all Joseph Drouhin wines, absolute priority is given to the true expression of terroir and vintage character.

Terroir
Site: Clos Vougeot is a large vineyard (50 hectares) located between Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny. Joseph Drouhin owns two parcels in this mythical vineyard, both of which are situated on a gentle slope and face due east.
History and tradition: Burgundy's most glorious and famous vineyard. Le Clos was planted and walled at the end of the 12th century by the monks of Cîteaux. They built a château which is now the headquarters of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin.
Soil: highly diversified, a veritable mosaic of clay and limestone in varying proportions.
