A wine score is the quickest, simplest way for a wine critic to communicate their opinion about the quality of a wine.

  • Tasting Notes

Produced exclusively from the vineyards of Château de la Marquetterie, this champagne pays tribute to a place steeped in history, the cradle of the Taittinger style. A former residence of 18th-century writer Jacques Cazotte - frequented by Enlightenment thinkers - the château was also General Castelnau's headquarters during the Battle of Champagne in 1915. It was also on this site that the Benedictine monk Brother Oudart is said to have helped unlock the secrets of Champagne fermentation in the 17th century.

Composed of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay, Les Folies de la Marquetterie reveals a deep yellow color with golden highlights, enlivened by fine, persistent bubbles. The nose seduces with its fruity intensity: peach jam, apricot, toasted brioche and a touch of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, silky and concentrated, marked by the deliciousness of ripe fruit and supported by a fine structure. The expressive, persistent finish reveals delicate woody accents.

A wine of character, complex and deeply rooted in its terroir, it is the perfect accompaniment to robust dishes such as roasted meats or fish in sauce. A champagne that combines richness, history and elegance.

  • Vinification and Aging

After harvesting, only the juice of the first pressing is retained. Each plot is vinified in small batches, some of which in oak barrels. A slow maturation of 5 years in bottles gives the wine a final harmonious touch.
