The bunches are modest in size (about 10 centimetres) and made up of small, spherical fruit. The leaves are large, round and have few incisions along the edges. This variety is both fertile and rustic, but prone to disease, especially mildew. In Burgundy, this grape corresponds to the Bourgogne Aligoté appellation. It is often combined with crème de cassis to make Kir.
