James Suckling

A wine score is the quickest, simplest way for a wine critic to communicate their opinion about the quality of a wine.

  • Tasting Notes

This wine has a pale gold color with aniseed highlights. Its delicate nose blends bergamot with notes of struck pebbles. Fresh on the palate, dominated by the typical Viognier character. The mid-palate strikes a subtle balance between the tension of the terroir and the generosity of the grape variety and aging. The finish is sapid, highlighting rustic and mineral notes. An authentic, complex wine.

  • Vinification and Aging

Vinification: Direct pressing of whole bunches. Selection of the best juices from the pressing. Light settling.

Aging: Fermentation and aging in stainless steel vats for 8 to 9 months. Malolactic fermentation. Very light stirring during the first months of aging.

  • Terroir

Clay, siliceous pebbles, calcareous pebbles and loess. Areas with granitoid leptynites (gneissic metamorphic rock).
