Tasting Notes
Here's a special creation that embodies the savoir-faire of the cellar masters who have built the House's reputation. It's a tribute to François Rabelais, son of Anne-Catherine Frapin and ancestor of the family who has lived on the same land since 1270.
Named "Plume", this cognac is a blend of over twenty cognacs sourced exclusively from Grande Champagne, a premier cru classé in the Cognac region. It has been meticulously aged for over 60 years in century-old barrels in the cellar, enhancing the roundness of this ancestral cuvée.
Limited to 500 numbered copies, xeux delicately designed 24-carat yellow gold feathers adorn the decanter and cork. The cellar master has carefully selected some twenty eaux-de-vie from the Paradis cellar to blend Plume Frapin.
The cognac's color is a rich orange-brown with mahogany highlights.
The nose is robust and complex, with delicate fruity aromas of dried apricot, fig, orange, licorice, Virginia blond tobacco and hints of cedar from a Lebanese cigar box.
On the palate, this cognac reveals woody notes accompanied by flavors of prunes and candied fruit. The length of the tasting experience is truly exceptional.
The tasting path of this cognac is very dynamic and transformative. To appreciate all its subtleties, we recommend you take your time, letting the eau-de-vie air out and gradually reveal its innumerable layers of fragrances and flavors. -
Vinification and Aging
At Frapin, the wines are distilled with the lees. Following the customary double distillation known as "Charentaise," the newly distilled brandies are stored in new barrels for a quarter of the time and in red barrels for the remainder.
Cognac aged in cellars for more than 60 years.

Terroir
The Frapin family has been in southern France since 1270, first as winemakers, then as distillers, and owns a 240-hectare vineyard in Grande Champagne.
The Grande Champagne, designated Premier Cru of the Region of Cognac, will become the family's preferred land at Château de Fontpinot.
In the 16th century, the Frapin family tree includes the great writer Antoine Rabelais. The golden feather of the writer serves as the House Frapin's emblem as a tiny reference to history. The house Frapin produces a vast range of Cognacs, the oldest dating back to 1888.
