A wine score is the quickest, simplest way for a wine critic to communicate their opinion about the quality of a wine.

  • Tasting Notes

The 2017 vintage boasts a deep color, while revealing immediate charm and aromatic purity bursting with fruit on the nose. On the palate, the tannins are tight and silky, offering precision and good balance with the flesh, as well as great freshness that brings energy and seductive length. In 2017, Angélus delivers a harmonious, fruity wine.

  • Vinification and Aging

In oak and stainless steel vats for the Merlot, in concrete vats for the Cabernet Franc. Cold maceration at 8°C for some vats, depending on grape characteristics, for 4 days to a week. Alcoholic fermentation temperature up to 28°C.

Post-fermentation maceration at 28 to 30°C, for 1 to 3 weeks. 20 to 22 months ageing in new fine-grain French oak barrels, with medium carbonation for the Merlot and part for the Cabernet Franc. Part of the Cabernet Franc, selected for its particularly subtle aromas, is matured in 30hl tuns.
